Hello, I am JoJo!
What is it like to work with me?
I treasure the time I have with you! I am honored to have you as my guest and to support your wellness goals. I treat each session as a time to get to know you and discover the ways in which I can assist you to be your best self.
I have been a Certified Massage Therapist & Health Educator since 2013. I am also a trained birth & postpartum doula as well as Gillespie Approach provider. I bring you my expertise & training to support your whole family in the most holistic way.
As a graduate of National Holistic Institute, I completed a advanced level of massage therapy education. My certification with the State of California is # is 45897.
My NPI # is 1639768039. I am a certified member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals, Brazilian Beauty Formula, Gillespie Approach, Skin Artistry as well as IRO (The International Reiki Organization).
Bodywork is a dance between my energy and yours. My approach uses intuitive touch with intention behind every service. My technique allows deeper structural release while facilitating relaxation within you. I listen to your body each step of the way and never push your body further than it is ready for.
I offer a silent session to allow me to focus on you. If you prefer to chat, I may keep this to a minimum during your session so that I can focus on you. I am happy to answer questions following your session as schedule permits. If you need additional support, please schedule wellness support or consultation in advance.
My training includes multiple Certified Specialty modalities such as Face Sculpting, Fertility, Prenatal massage, Manual Lymph Drainage, Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage, Post-surgical lymph drainage, Dry brushing, Swedish, Advanced Deep Tissue, Myofascial release, Usui Reiki Master level, Balinese Siwa Murti, Craniosacral therapy, Craniosacral Fascial Therapy, Yomassage and Acupressure for Labor Stimulation & Postnatal Recovery, infant & child massage. I am also trained to serve those with disabilities, Autism and those with neurodivergent needs.
A little more about me. I am a burn survivor as well as survivor of a traumatic brain injury. Both of my legs were severely burned in a accident as a child. I also suffered a severe head injury during my childhood that changed my life forever. My diagnosis has led me to massage therapy and holistic care. I have struggled and suffered for years due to my conditions and often dismissed as "there is nothing more you can do". In my most critical time, I was introduced to lymphatic drainage and craniosacral therapy. Both changed my life and supported my healing journey, allowing me to function in the way I had hoped for. I felt a deep passion to study these modalities to provide you an opportunity to experience healing in your life in a more profound way.
I have my ups and downs like everyone managing a chronic illness. I have dedicated my life to learning how to navigate the life I imagined while maintaining my condition, allowing me to be the best I can. I utilize a more holistic approach to my health in support of my condition utilizing an AyerVedic medicine, craniosacral therapy & lymphatic drainage. I am truly grateful for Western Physicians who support my approach in treating my conditions and for those who have supported my healing journey.
I am blessed to have a loving husband, partner and friend of over 30 years. My husband has retired from his career of over 25 yrs in June 2023 to join me in continuing to provide you the work I love! Having him take over all the administrative tasks I have been doing for many years allows me to breathe a little easier and focus on my guests.
We are blessed with our son who is now an adult. My birth story is one that left me feeling very traumatized, unprepared & unsupported as we navigated parenting a newborn with multiple special needs. We have parented our son who is diagnosed with Autism. He taught us everything and inspired me to believe in myself in doing the work I provide today.
A little fun fact...Prior to entering the healing arts & birth work, I was a program director for over 25 years in an organization that provides services to families with disabilities.
Some things I love.... coffee, teas, Ubatuba acai bowls, Mexican food, belly dancing, comedy shows, concerts, massage, facials, animals and things that smell yummy!
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you with your wellness needs.
